I’m excited to be here at Autumn Counseling, and eager to get to work with new clients. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, self-esteem or burnout, I’d love to help you feel better. My therapeutic style is collaborative and client-centered. My approach is rooted in empathy, inclusivity, and a deep respect for individual experiences.
Therapeutic Focus:
LGBTQ+ Affirmative Therapy: I provide a safe and affirming space for individuals to explore their identities, navigate the challenges of coming out, and address issues related to discrimination and stigma. My goal is to empower clients to embrace their authentic selves.
Nerd Culture and Geek Identity: Understanding the unique experiences of geeks and nerds, I incorporate elements of pop culture, gaming, and fandom into our sessions. I believe these interests can be powerful tools for self-expression and connection.
Burnout and Work-Life Balance: For professionals feeling overwhelmed, I offer strategies to manage stress, set boundaries, and cultivate a healthier work-life balance. Together, we’ll explore the underlying causes of burnout and develop a personalized plan for recovery and renewal.
Couples and Polycules: Whether you’re in a traditional relationship or exploring polyamory, I provide a non-judgmental space to discuss communication, intimacy, and relationship dynamics. I’m committed to helping partners build strong, supportive connections.
I utilize a blend of evidence-based practices, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman approach to relationships. I aim to create an environment where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and work toward your goals.
I spent a decade working in higher education and have a great understanding of the particular challenges presented in young adulthood. I have also worked with homeless youth at The Montrose Center (LGBTQ+ Community Center) and have been a mental health case manager at The Menninger Clinic.
If you’re looking for a supportive and understanding therapist who respects your unique journey, I’m here for you. Together, we can navigate the challenges you face and celebrate the strengths that make you who you are.
